Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Help with Gloves

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Wonder if anyone can give me some tips re gloves i.e. which ones are good bad etc.

What I am looking for is a full length/gauntlet style, preferably gore-tex, removable liner, not leather if I can help it as I am boarder and have hands on snow a lot, wrist straps.

Dont want to pay stupid money so thinking if I can pick something up about the £50 mark in sales it would be good.

I can find plenty of gauntlet styles e.g. North Face Montana but the removable liners seems rare these days.

Any help/recommendations appreciated.

Cheers

kb36, have a look at Level gloves. (Think you might have to google for level hand gloves or something). They have Kevlar or similar palms, mine have been used for 8 weeks boarding and not a mark on the palm. I'm sue they do a forested version with removable liners - check em out.

("I'm sue they do a forested version" should read "I'm sure they do a goretex version")

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

kb36, same as rogg, I use Level mitts which are very waterproof and removable liner. Not sure if their gloves have removable liners, but a quick look at their range should tell you. Various models under £50.

You'll need to Register first of course.

IMO you should first find out what size of glove you need. Apart from being more comfortable, properly fitting gloves make your fingers more dexterous. Goggle glove size and loads of pages explaining how to measure your hands and finding the correct size will be displayed.

There is an old snowHeads section on gloves and glove technique here, it does ramble and wander off in places, but is a good read wink
