Depends what you mean by is skiing 'supported'. Skiing, walking and other recreation activities that don't need turn by turn routing all do pretty much the same thing. You can track your path and see where you've been. if you have a suitable map installed, you can also use it to work out where to go when off-piste, but it's worth having a proper map with you as well if you're doing that sort of thing.
I've just picked up a Garmin Oregon, and although it has a basic recreational European map, I'll probably see if there's more detailed maps for where I go skiing.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The 110 is a very simple runners watch that just tells you distance and pace/time etc. There's no mapping.
You can, however, download your track to any suitable website that'll take a GPX or a TCX file.

With the difference in price between the 110 and the 410 being around £20 when I bought in the autumn I opted for the 410. The OH uses his 405 for skiing and it works fine. If you can find a 410 at a decent price I'd go for that.
