Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ellmau ski lockers

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi there not sure if i have posted this in the right section, but I really fancy Ellmau next year for our family holiday (end of Jan). The thing that is offputting is the walk to the ski lifts. It would be bearable if we didnt have to hump skis and walk in ski boots to the ski bus stop or ski lifts (which in some cases of the hotels it says a 10 minute walk) I can hear the kids moaning now "how much further, my feet are hurting, my skis are too heavy"!!! Shocked

but if there are lockers at the bottom of the ski lifts this would make this resort a feasable option.

polo99, yes there are in the shop at the lift base station. I've yet to find an Austrian resort that doesn't offer this excellent service.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Assuming you want to go straight to the Hartkaiser in the morning you'd probably only need to lug the kids skis on the way there. If they're reasonably proficient they should be able to ski back to the village (lift 90 from across the Hartkaiser car park) - this does obviously depend entirely on where you're hotel is. I really enjoyed the ski back, probably one of my favourite runs that week.

It's possible to ski to the Hartkaiserbahn from the village too, but iirc this could take some time as you'd have to get to the top of the Astberg to get across (someone may correct me here though!)
