Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Help- Short break 17th and 21st Jan?

Help- Short break 17th and 21st Jan?

I’ve spent all day trying to come up with something and I’m getting nowhere! Can anyone help pls?

I really wanted to book a short ski trip 17th to the 21st Jan to give as a Christmas present for my partner! (I know- sneaky way to get in an extra ski trip) Toofy Grin

I’ll try and give as much details as possible so as not to waste anyone’s time!

The things I’m looking for are:-

Short transfer time. Rather organise transfers than drive- my driving is almost as rubbish as my skiing!!!

Long blue runs/easy reds- ideally tree lined. We don’t need as massive ski area but long interesting runs would be ideal

Good snow (we all want that)

Not massively bothered about nightlife- just need a couple of bars for apes.

Quite like a pretty village.

Pretty impossible but self- catering would be good!

Places we have already been.
Les Gets – nice village probably a bit small now -I learnt there.
Avoriaz- I’d argue with the difficulty of runs- I thought I was gonna die on some of the blues! Not keen on the artificial village thing.
Folgarida- really liked it there, pretty- good selection of runs for my level, nice food etc. - something similar would be good.
Les Deux alps- really enjoyed this, felt like a proper grown up ski resort, Easiski lessons were amazing. I would probably book there again for this trip but I can’t seem to get any mid-week flights or transfers.

If possible I really wanted to go to Switzerland/Italy/Austria- Max budget is about £450 each (accom, flights, transfers)

I guess my other option is just to book some flights to Geneva and book accommodation closer to the date to get some bargain rates etc. Rather not do that though as a flight to Geneva doesn’t really have the same appeal on Christmas morning!!!!

Merry Christmas!!!!

Do you mean Les Gets village was small, or the ski area? Neither counts as particularly small in my book.

If you want to go to Austria or Italy you'd be better off booking flights to Innsbruck, or Turin, or Venice, or somewhere, rather than Geneva.

Where are you flying from? If you do a search here on ski weekends there are some useful links, but I can't remember what they are. You need a specialist firm. Or DIY.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

We can do £299pp 17th - 20th Jan catered in Paradiski if that helps and we tick most but not all of the boxes above. Flights and transfers aren't included but you should be able to get something to suit within that budget. Chalet details via the link below . . .

Happy planning!

sillyskis, I have been searching and only just booked something yesterday. The problem you will have is that your running into 2 weeks. If I were you, book your flight and keep looking.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

sillyskis, Have you tried posting a question on the Solutions Room on www.chaletsdirect.com ? Lots of independent owners there who have the flexibility to offer you odd dates, short breaks etc., will organise lift passes, ski hire etc., and you can make a voucher up for Christmas morning. For resorts, I'd list PdS or Grand Massif on your request and there are plenty of places which would tick the boxes, within those areas. Not sure why you'd discount Les Gets though....

Snow and Sunshine, I'm in a similar position, there are 3 of us who have flights booked, fly out Fri 18th Jan, back home Tues 22nd Jan. We usually do long weekends coming out Sat, but couldn't this year due to work commitments so aware we're spanning 2 weeks. Also 3 is not the best number, we're trying to get a 4th. I have a few options but your chalet looks really nice and having never skied La Plagne, I'd be interested. If you have availability, could you let me know...PM me the price if you'd rather not post. Thanks in advance Brian
