Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Boredsurfing, Wouldn't rule it out, athletes are never the top priority, if there's something left in the pot after the expenses of the pen pushers et al then hopefully these crumbs will filter down to those who deserve them. Evil or Very Mad

I think Snowsport England are more concerned with grassroots participation, while BSS focus on elite athletes.

None of the money that SSE are getting from Sport England will go to the Elite athletes in the GB team. This is purely aimed at getting more people to participate in Skiing in the UK on dry slopes and indoor slopes. Great idea to get lots of people skiing and maybe some of them will get to a certain level that shows potential, but once they get to the national teams they have to fund themselves, especially in Alpine.
It's all part of the Government push at participation.
Handball & Volleyball are getting a similar amount for Grass roots participation, yet the GB teams will have all their funding cut as they didn't medal at London 2012. So where do all these budding British team members go?
