Poster: A snowHead

Hi all, I don't mean to take away from the Sp Conrad thread, but I just thought I'd report on great service received from Glisshop. As many of you know they are based in France, near Clement Ferrand.
I don't have any connections with their business - just a very satisfied customer. My purchase was for a pair of 2012 Scott Mission 178s, with Marker Griffon Bindings.
I emailed them to ask if their stock were all A versions - a reply to my email was made within a day - in perfect English.
Their prices tended to creep up and down on a daily basis due to fluctuations in Euro/Pound. P&P is free!!!
I ordered almost 3 weeks later when the price dropped back down - in the meantime I had sent 3 - 4 other emails asking about the quality of their workmanship in mounting bindings, shipping etc - all replied to within 24 hrs. I was rest assured when I ordered.
The order process was a little bit problematic - my CC was refused twice. I opted for Bank Transfer but when I found out the bloody banks wanted to charge £10 to transfer I canned it - I emailed Glisshop about the problem and they rang me within 20mins. I asked them to cancel the original order on their system, so that I can re-order and payed by PayPal. All went through easy. This was a Friday.
On Sat night I received a phone call - they double checked my boot sole length, asked for my UK shoe size and I volunteered my Mondo boot size. I asked if the Missions were central-mounted and they said 'No' but asked if I wanted it central-mounted. I said 'No', as I don't ski park, and wanted it as per manufacturer specification, and also requested that they take care to make sure that it was for the specified boot sole length with boot and ski marks aligning. They reassured me that they would do that. They also had my ability and physical info.
So Monday, it was processed and shipped Monday night - my skis arrived on Thursday morning. Packed in a sturdy box, well packed inside, wrapped in shredded cardboard lattice, and as I expected - bindings, skis all new, no scratches or used marks or dents. I stuck my boot in each and double checked - the boot & ski alignment was spot on. I had to tweak the DIN a little to make sure they all aligned (I'm OCD ) and all in all, a superb buying experience!
I believe in giving credit where credit is due, and I can fully recommend from my buying experience. (plus as I'm a canny bu**er I rarely pay full price for anything so I had to recommend due to their keen prices).
Thanks all.

Same here, getting my Armada TSTs at a saving of over £100 from an authorised Armada dealer elsewhere in the EU was just too much of a saving to pass up, and actually isn't it what the single market is all about? |
davkt, wait till you get your bill for the inserts

I've just dealt with the same place, having got Black Crow skis, Salomon Guardian bindings, skins and poles for about £600 all in, saving me about £100 over what I could buy locally, and that was for 2011 model skis. Brilliant service - being a half wit I'd ordered the skis in the wrong length at about 10pm last night. Rang at 0900 this morning to make sure they hadn't started mounting the bindings - they ran off to the workshop and rescued the skis, which were about to be drilled.
They then changed the order, confirmed everything and the order was shipped mid afternoon today.
I'd love to buy locally, but to buy the same skis and bindings would be more than it would be for the whole kit. Pleasant people who deal with emails quickly and ring back when they say they will. I emailed another local shop to ask if they had a similarly priced deal yesterday - 36 hours later no reply.
Now the skis will probably drop to bits when they arrive...

Andy glad you had the same good experience - let me know when you receive them - I'm sure yours will be fine - as mine was when it arrived.

Well just got back from a 7am Tesco trip (because their home delivery people are incapable of finding sausagemeat stuffing and pigs in blankets - thanks Tesco) to find the delivery bloke sat outside my house with my shiny new skis. Superbly packed, and delivered in 4 working days at Christmas. Everything looks ticket-boo - bindings mounted properly, skins trimmed etc. Recommended.
