Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Knee Swelling

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
8 weeks to go and I get a damn swollen knee while working out at the gym. Looks like house maids knee or something similar, so does anyone have any ideas on a leg free workout to tide me over until the swelling goes down. I probably want to emphasise burning as many calories as possible since apart from the get fit for skiing aspect of my gym sesssions this is also part of my plan to get down to 12 1/2 stone from 17 stone which I started back in June. Most of the way there but don't want to step back too far over Christmas.

Swimming with a pool buoy can be good.

I'd see a sports physio too, some sensible strengthening rehab exercises and maybe a recommendation for a support so you can get the most out of your skiing? I assume your doing the whole ice and anti-inflamatory thing?
Swimming and arm bikes are great. Pilates is a surprisingly hard workout when its done right.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks for the ideas. Off to the doc tomorrow to find out what the problem is. I really don't understand why only one knee is swollen and making a horrible grating noise when I move it. Even more perplexed by it being pain free although it is retsricting movement.

Bit peed off, was going to treat myself to some new boots this week but holding off until I find out what damage I've done Sad
