Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Question
Which is the best resort on the Sella Ronda for a group of 10 gents age range 35-40? Been to Solden, St Anton and Mayrhofen last few years and fancy a change. flying to Innsbruck 10 March and also a little concerned about snow conditions that time of year. It's not the highest ski area!
Thanks in advance

Personally I really liked Selva, though I haven't stayed in any of he other ones on the Sella Ronda to say how they compare. It is on our list of resorts we will definitely go back to.

spalding, I wouldn't worry about the snow conditions that early in March it'll be as good as anywhere else.

If your flying into Innsbruck then I would suggest staying in Selva or Corvara/Colfosco as these are the easiest resorts to get to by road. If your going to use public transport then definately Selva. The other resports are longer and more of a pain to get to by public transport.

Depends a bit what you are looking for. You can get round the Sella Ronda pretty briskly, but the "corners" each have their particular charms.

Arabba gives you quick access to the steeper stuff and the Marmolada. Nice little village.

Canazei is a bigger town and its nearest slopes are gentler. You can venture to Allba and beyond, which is pleasant.

Selva has a lot going for it in terms of where you can get to. The Saslong is on your doorstep. Hidden Valley can de done.

Corvara has some pretty areas nearby. Good access to the circuit.

San Cassiano and La Villa are off the circuit, but give you plenty of easy cruising and you can get to Cortina and 5 Torri by bus.

What are your priorities?

spalding, you don't say your standard or what you like to ski (or how important apres ski is) so difficult to advise. In general the skiing is fairly mellow, though spectacular. Much of the tougher skiing on piste is around Arabba, but it is a fairly small place. However there is quite a lot of off piste, much of it steep couloirs and far from the pistes. There should be enough snow in March (I'll be going on the 1st) but we'll have to hope it isn't too old. Spring snow would be nice, and I once had a huge dump there in March

spalding, If you enjoyed the German europop fuelled après of the 3 Austrian places you visited, all renowned for that, then I'd go for Selva. Much smaller scale but the Luiskeller can be very good

Chasseur, Embarassed Um, let me rephrase that .... nearly a metre of snow fell. We were meant to move to Cortina but the roads were blocked.
