I am 40 yrs old 5'8 and weigh 11 & a half stone (160lb ish ) which size of K2 Hellbents would suit me best the ones for sale are 2011 model the skis would be used off piste almost exclusively

stevenwebster, Like what sort of off piste do you like doing, do you ski switch, do you want to be able to get back to lifts easily, when you ski off piste is it always loverly deep powder, or cruddy most of the time?, trees / open spaces etc etc.....what other skis do you have, like?, your ability and experience. Hellbents are a very specialist ski

189s ski very short, even for a short light person I'd say anything under 179 is rather defeating the object unless you are a very small lady assuming you know what you're doing.

Floppy as leftover noodles too, can't imagine they'd be difficult to ski.

Ability ive skied since 12 in scotland most weekends when at school then for last twenty years been to alps 1-3 weeks per season 90% of these weeks have been in ski school 2 weeks in ESF off piste lessons with transeivers etc im fast aggressive skier i think what I am wondering is should i buy a powder ski theses hellbents are cheap and ive always fancied trying a piste to powder week in St Anton and to get the best out of it would these skis help? My skis at the moment are salamon x screams but they must be about 8 years old and have served me well

I'd upgrade to a 50/50 " mid fat " ski first - but there is so much choice I d demo them, especially to get a feel for rocker on the piste. Looking at 90-100mm underfoot stuff - Blizzard, Line, Scott, Volkl all have really interesting stuff here.
I looked at these as an occasional powder ski to keep at our flat and swop bindings on and off when it dumped but the size wasn't quite right for me. I probably wouldnt have been taking them around with me in the hope of big powder on one week holiday.

Get a versatile 'powder' (offpiste would be a more appropriate term) ski, I think the Hellbents will be too soft to cope with much other than pow.
Whitedot Reedemers are often recommended around here, personally I love my Moment Bibby Pros for the majority of offpiste conditions (even onpiste in spring). Deal very well with crud/crust/chopped up stuff/etc.

I imagine the hellbents are pretty much unskiable on piste, they're huuuge. Check out faction, DPS and other TGR loved companies for some ski brands you might not have heard of that will do the job excellently.
