Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

ski touring dolomites

Hoping to head across to the dolomites (near arabba) for some ski mountaineering this winter. Looking for some suggestions of good easy to medium ski tours to do?

also does anyone have a copy of "freeride in dolomiti" they would like to sell.

Obvious choice is the Val Mesdi, but a superb looking alternative entry is the Piz Boe:Canale del Ghiacciaio from the Boe summit (on my "todo" list)

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

NEVER !!

Anyway - a bit of info here http://www.planetmountain.com/english/news/shownews1.lasso?l=2&keyid=37828

Also you can purchase it from http://www.cordee.co.uk/Freeride-in-the-Dolomiti-det-17-105-294-5848.html who expect stock 20 Dec or these guys http://www.abebooks.co.uk/9788887890938/Freeride-Dolomiti-Ediz-italiana-inglese-8887890935/plp who appear to have stock (I'd phone first)

You could always look and see what other people do, like http://mountaintracks.co.uk/trip/dolomites-circuit-ski-tour

Just type Dolomites Ski Touring into Google and see what comes up

Have fun !!

Hi Tom89, Ski Mountaineering.....ummm! Not sure that this fits your requirments http://www.inspireditaly.com/ski/ski-safari/. If not, we live in the Dolomites in the winter and would be happy to help you discover the region.

Yes, it's nice. (I've put this photo of the Canale variant on snowheads before, but without checking its name).
We'll be in Arabba again with the same guide who took us, from 1st March.

If you go up the gondola lift which starts near the bottom of the Val Mesdi (near Colfosco) to near the Passo Gardena, then skin directly up to the ridge on your right, you can ski nearly 4km down the Val Chedul to Selva. You would be very unlikely to find any other ski tracks.

PS No, I'm not selling you my copy of "Freeride in Dolomiti". If you want a guide while you are there you could try the author ( http://www.proguide.it tremolada@proguide.it.)

I appreciate this is a bit of a long shot. But would anybody who has a copy of freeride in dolomiti be willing to lend me it up until mid January.

I would of course be happy to pay for postage and include enough for a couple of beers on its return.

I am having a bit of trouble getting hold of a copy.

cheers
