Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

tomb, spent a week in Bardonecchia 3 years ago. Small ski area, nicely enlarged if you hop on the short bus ride over to Jafferau mountain, which is quieter. We enjoyed the piste layout though there is a short icy bottleneck on the return to Campo Smith base. Some very nice runs through trees and easy blue routes over to the 2006 Olympic runs.

For Après, we stayed in the town and bussed it daily to the slopes, so we were able to enjoy a few of the town bars and restaurants. Food was reasonable and very good. Bars were not exactly buzzing but fine for a few drinks, I think there was a nice wine bar near the church. Re eating on the mountain, avoid the restaurant at the foot of Campo Smith base which is busy and not very reasonable. There are some better options uphill.

I enjoyed Bardonecchia on only my third week ever skiing, and have often thought I would like to go back. Hope this helps.

We're off there the week after (flying out 6th Jan) - really looking forward to it & watching the web cams daily to see the snow build up!! Have read some mixed reviews though :/

If anyone has experience of the ski schools there we'd appreciate the input - will probably look to book one or two mornings of private lessons.

@ tomb - post a couple of updates while you're there to let us know what's good & what to avoid!! Smile
