Need to buy new ski boots but have just looked at my diary and realised that tomorrow is the only day I have free before I go skiing in January (ridiculous I know...) - I live in Cardiff but am staying in Bristol tonight - is there anywhere worth giving a go in the vicinity tomorrow or am I best waiting until I get to resort?

Snow and Rock can be a bit hit and miss with boot fitting, as I found out when I had to get mine refitted by somebody who actually knew what he was doing!

Yeah, not ideal I know but that's life! Might have a look at S+R then - got all day so in no real rush. Hopefully might end up with some boots that don't allow me to practically remove my foot from them without undoing them...anything has to be an improvement!

There used to be an excellent Ellis Brigham shop on Whiteladies Road quite near the top (about 100m down from the Downs on the right-hand side). I'm not sure if they are still there, or if the manager and staff are still as knowledgeable but if they are it is worth it to get an alternative to Slush & Rush who I always felt were more interested in the sale itself than the RIGHT sale for me!
Just checked on the web site and it is still in the same location.

Samerberg Sue, I have used both locations, EB's is still in the same place. They had a really good fitter, who left... S&R selling boots too big IME

We are off to val d'isere again. Judging by the timings from last year, waiting until we get to the resort would mean missing out on skiing time on the first morning so I'm not particularly keen!
