Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

headed to les trois vallees in january for my honeymoon and looking for some tips from those in the know.

my wife and i will be in les 3 vallees for 8 days and have already signed a contract on a condo in meribel with a full kitchen and intend to pack lunches with us for our ski days.

i telemark 100+ days/yr and she is a strong alpine skier who skis 50+.

we love ripping groomers together (we both live and work in sun valley, idaho) and are excited to explore a massive resort complex together for a week.

we will both be bringing our personal ski setups.

anywhere we must eat (we both love good food)?

shops that hire/carry/mount tele gear in a worst case scenario?

favorite runs?

dive bars?

things to do on a down day?

advice for traveling with our equipment?

we will also be traveling to ski other areas for 7 days after our time in meribel, and have no set plans for that half of the adventure...

flying in and out of geneva (flights booked).

cheers!

menehune, Welcome to Snowheads! Was there last year for 8 days as well - great place!
You can find lots of info on 3V here - just use the search button.
Check some recent threads: http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=92898#2133636

We were not after the nightlife but you are well placed for it in Meribel. Also for apres straight after skiing - specially with opening of new La Folie Douce.
Check this web for useful info:

You can find all picnic places for packed lunches on the piste map. In Val Thorens there is one inside as well.

Plenty of great skiing. Our favourites: Val Thorens, Courchevel 1650, runs above St Martin.......
Just pick up a place for the day and head there.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The 3V escapade is a series of lifts which act as checkpoints - that gives you a basis to explore the whole of the 3V
