Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hello

From a web search I can see thatbthere are a number of ski schools in Zell am See. Does anyone have any particular recommendations as we are looking to book some private lessons? Thanks

There is a chap called Francis at the Ski school right next to the bottom of the gondolas who is very good, patient and is English. He is a retired Barrister.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

darbyrw, Francis is a good guy, he's Austrian but spent most of his life in Australia. He works for Ski School Zell am See which is in the base station of the City Express gondola. By all means email them and ask but you'll do well to get him though as he almost inevitably has a class. Otherwise ask them for Kari or Hippolyt.

On the balance of probability and imho Ski School Sport-Alpin have the best overall reputation. To define that I mean that you are least likely to get an 18 year old Dutch kid who's still pissed from the night before and really wants to spend the time you've paid for chatting up the opposite sex or drinking coffee Shock

If you do a search you will find some threads on this topic already wink

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I used the All Mountain Skischool when I went 3 years ago. I had lessons with Werner, who was really excellent. Decades of experience instructing, and it showed.

I've found that some of the bigger schools can be a bit prescriptive in their teaching methods, even when giving private lessons, but he really looked at how I skiied and tailored his lesson accordingly. Also gave me lots of useful information about reading the mountain and figuring out where the best slopes would be.

He also spoke perfect English.
