Poster: A snowHead
|
Morning
I am arranging a work weekend ski trip to Mayrhofen in January. Have three not quite beginners needing lessons for two days. Decided private makes most sense. Does any anyone have recommendations they can share?
Thanks for any help.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

A couple of my kids have done half days and private lessons with the Red Professor and were happy with them. I think they are about the biggest outfit there. Perhaps a local will be along soon with some inside info.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

not roten profis they are the biggest bunch of unqualified criminals ever!
SMT biggest - safe, lots of groups running and lots of english instructors
3000 smaller, little more local, mostly good instructors issues if you don't fit nicely into a group level
Mount everest - Tiny, only really do privates but almost all instructors speak english fluently
have a look at the websites, pick your favourite school/price, can even pm me if you want to ask for a specific instructor before you get there!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I'd say SMT, i know lots of people that have lessons with them and they have always been very happy. Their website is pretty decent and think you get a small discount if you buy online in advance.

You could try Luggi's
A-6290 Mayrhofen
Hauptstraße 446
Austria

Personal experience plus recommendations from a few others hereabouts.
Luggi is a top guy who genuinely seems to know his stuff.

Luggis is a ski rental shop, the lessons booked there are ski school 3000, though definitely right, luggi is definitely a nice guy.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

dulcamara, still just your side of the argument which ever way you look at it! I warn people off a certain ski school that I believe is run in the same way the one you commented on is. Other people go back to the year after year and recommend them (both instructors and clients).

Thanks all. Based on this have sent enquiries off to SMT and Mount Everest. Much appreciated, and dulcamara, it is never does to ignore such clear advice. Thanks all!

How do they get away with it?
This rotter was quite nice, day 1 for my youngest back in 2006.
