I did what was known as a 'basic swing' (BASI terminology) in Verbier in 1969. But this was extremely boring in comparison to the article above. Very boring indeed.

More exciting than I would ever want. Must have been truly terrifying. Makes the non matching cutlery/collar and cuffs back in the chalet seem rather irrelevant.

Alastair, Can you explain this thread and the significance of that picture to my 13 year old please? I thought I had got away with saying it was about swing turns as David Goldsmith pointed out near the top.

I'd be interested in your comments regarding this type of stuff. The tone we try to set is of a family site, however, in terms of what people write we've been pretty relaxed (and I think we'd like to keep it that way). Perhaps images are different and should be put in as links rather than with the image tag, flagged with NSFW (Not suitable for work) - which covers a multitude of sins
