Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

+1 to kitenski's recommendation.
And they'll be at the ski shows - Glasgow, Birmingham, London - if you want to chat with them.
My girlfriend's friends have just booked with them, 18-28 Dec.
When are you thinking of going? And for how long?

http://www.bdlodge.com worth a look, seems fairly inexpensive? I haven't stayed but heard about them somewhere!

Me too - they are excellent. Ask to speak to Lyndsey or Ben (if he's in the UK).

Yeah great lodge and Clayton and crew are top notch.
Lovely food and plenty of people passing through for you to ski with.
Black Diamond run trips to the goods too.
Here's the latest gang they hosted

BD is really nice, and well known thanks to all the ski movies. It is a touch expensive, and 10 mins drive/bus out of Hirafu. In the middle of Hirafu, Owashi Lodge is worth a look for the two singles on a budget. Have stayed there a few times, a good clean no frills hostel and the location can't be beaten. Have also stayed at Aspara Lodge and Shinzenkan Backpackers. Both good and cheap, although maybe 5/10 mins walk out of central Hirafu but there is a shuttle bus.
Can also recommend Lodge Ten, which is further out, closer to Niseko Village but very cheap, incredibly friendly and great food.
Don't have any suggestions for apartments. I usually just stay in a cheapy hostel whenever I'm there!

We stayed at the Annupuri Lodge in Niseko Annupuri.
It is about a one-minute walk to the main gondola
and was very nice. You have access to the whole mountain
and the staff are super helpful.
