Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Fogg Insurance.

The best in my opinion and includes off piste. Believe me, i've tested it several times.... Laughing

161 quid for Europe, 290 quid for worldwide season insurance but no personal posessions.

Any idea on that cost please?

Do you know if that includes evac from the slopes?

And this is the off-piste wording

Quote:
Off piste skiing is included provided you act reasonably and do not ski in a closed or avalanche risk area.

If not skiing with a guide or instructor, always check that the area is suitable for a skier at your level.

What do they classify as an avalanche risk area?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

If you don't need cover for possessions, then with your normal EHIC card, Alpen Verein membership will cover you for rescue/repatriation/etc for about €20 (I'm pretty certain you can be repatriated to the country where you 'reside permanantly,' rather than just Austria, but double check this!!).

clarky999, The small print of the AAC (Alpenverein) policy states that you are covered for medical costs and repatriation for only the first 8 weeks of any trip. Therefore long stayers should go for seasonnaires' insurance, such as the ERV policies recommended by Natives.com

My son will be working in Saalbach for the season and his employer scoffed when told that he'd arranged insurance - said he was covered adequately by the employer's policy. The ERV policies do seem to remove all but minimal medical cover when the insured is employed as a seasonal worker, on the basis that they will be covered for emrgency medical costs and accidents by the employer's insurance. He will be clarifying this further in due course but has in the meantime arranged the basic 'Rookies' seasonnaire policy for £57. It will have to be upgraded if it turns out that there are any holes in the employer's cover. However the upgraded 'Adventurer's policy, which seems to provide adequate cover for any eventuality would be only just over £100, after deducting the Natives discount.

I've just used MPIBrokers - Winter Sports Excel policy which covers pretty much everything for c£250 for 130 days. Don't be tempted by the c£100 policies.... far too many exclusions.
