In a similar style we use 'Social Ski Days' , or 'Social Skiing' or ever better to include the boarders too 'Social Sliding'.

I wish there were more groups like this in other resorts. The SCGB is OK but their reps can become a bit pre-occupied with off-piste, and I hate going off piste with clients who aren't equipped for the task.

Maybe something to imply that there is no big commitment and folks can do as much or little as they like. Possibly doesn't need ski/board in the name, given that is what folks are all there for anyway? How about:

Social Sliders?
Social Ski Meet?
Social Ski & Board?
Mountain Meets?
Don't Ski Alone?
Mates for the Day?

As someone else said, any humour by-passees will not attend, plus no Italian cops are ever likely to latch on....not that you're proposing anything that is going to catch their "attention", of course.

We can’t use Billy Snow Mates (or anything like it) as it has negative connotations.
Billy - Billy Bunter – Punter
This is the same reason that I “never” use nick-names in a ski class as they may be derogatory, even if their mates use them. e.g my name is John and this is Smelly. Fair enough they may pong a bit, but they have not employed a ski instructor to bring any (possibly) hurtful name-calling into their holiday situation.
Along the same lines, the skiers may have no mates (for a couple of hours or even the whole holiday), but it’s their holiday, they have paid to enjoy it. I would imagine the people on their own for a few hours may not mind the Billy No Mates tag, but if someone has arrived alone, does bringing up the possibility that they may be social inept, increase their enjoyment of our product. I doubt it.
Remember that the idea is to simply allow people who may be skiing alone to meet up with other who also may be skiing along. e.g They may have arrive on holiday alone, they may have dropped off the other people in the party into ski school, the other members of their group may not wish to ski for the day/morning, etc.
