Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski lessons in Val Thorens (Jan 2013)

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi All,

I'm new round here so sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Me and my boyfriend are off to Val Thorens for a week in mid-Jan. He has skied a few times before some time ago - he's confident on blue runs and happy to go on reds. I've had 2*3 hours of lessons in MK snow dome so very new to it! I've really enjoyed it and we're hoping to go back to MK a fair few times before we go.

We'd like to get a private coach but is it okay with the differing abilities? He's happy for the coach to focus on me a bit as he's happy to go off on his own for more difficult runs sometimes. Likewise, if my MK experience is anything to go by, I'll be glad of the rest and a hot chocolate if the instructor spends some time with him.

So, a few questions!
a) Is there such thing as private coaches or are all coaches associated with one of the ski schools?
b) Are any of the ski schools better than others for private instructors?
c) Any recommendations?

Thanks so much in advance... seems to be quite a lot to learn but I'm really excited already!
