Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

What length skis?

I have just seen the skis in the sports pursuit sales and with ones at £99 inc bindings I am seriously tempted even factoring in the cost of ski carriage I can actualy see me saving there. However given it is something I have never considered buying before And I never really paid much attention to the skis before just been happy with what the hire shops present me with. I thought the last ones I had were 165cm but they don't have that long they do have 158 I am 5'7", what length would you recommend, I only ever ski on piste.

Thanks

NickyJ, the collective probably needs a little more information about what you are looking for.

These are very low level skis. If you don't anticipate getting any better, then fair enough. If you do, you'll probably outgrow them pretty quickly, which may modify your arithmetic...

Also, I don't see ski carriage getting any cheaper any time soon...

Well to be honest I can't see it happening as we aren't even managing getting skiing once a year, once every 2 has been more like it. I checked on the carriage and at £35 per ski (can't help wondering if I could get away with paying that once by having two pairs in one bag), it makes it less attractive overall. I went back on to alpin resorts and spotted they are now offering free children's hire with adult hire so I have booked that now £175 for two pairs or adults skis and two pairs of children's skis, boots and helmets in St Anton which is pretty good so I am going to leave it. Thanks for the reply Happy
