Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Heliskiing Europe

Had a great trip last year in Gressonay with two long decents from one heli uplift, first one down into Zermatt from the col between Castor and Pollux, then back up the Zermatt lift system and a second long decent back into the Gressonay system. It added up to over 4000m of vertical.

Fancy doing something similar again this year, anyone got suggestions? It needs to be a reasonable distance from Chamonix.

From Verbier you have an option of doing either Arolla or Petit Combin.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

We used Air Zermatt a while ago - the helicopter picked us up from a layby (!) somewhere near Cham, dropped us off just over the border in Switzerland, and we skied back down into Le Tour with a guide. A grand day out!

Some of the best heliskiing in europe takes place just the other side of the tunnel from chamonix in the Asota valley in Italy . One operation working out of Courmayeur doing drops on Italian side of Monte Bianco , One on the Petit San Bernard pass lift access to pick up point from LeThuille or La Rosiere mainly dropping on the the Le Ruitor Glacier or the Miravidi with runs back into France to Ste Foy or from the Miravii back down to Bourg St Maurice . The other operation is in valgrisenche in the Asota valley , this one is special , a small village , a great hotel , a helipad and about 5 different drops on Glaciers with runs back down through the trees to the hotel .

A great trip if your feeling flush , Start in Ste Foy go to the Petit San Bernard Pass heli drop to the Le Ruitor then ski into the Valgrisenche valley a couple of drops there stay in the hut , like a hotel, at the head of the valley then skin up the glacier and go over into the Sassiere valley skiing all the way down to the Dam just below Tignes , short taxi back to Ste Foy .

The Petit Bernard pass operation is the cheapest working out last season about 600 euros a drop between 4 .
