Weather warnings have been issued across northern, and particularly north-eastern Italy, with heavy rain raising fears of flooding and landslides. In the mountains near Vicenza and Verona between 50mm and 80mm of rain fell on Sunday, with heavy snow above 1300m to 1700m. Continued bad weather is forecast.
The Stelvio and Rombo mountain passes have been blocked by snow.

Near Bormio. I've never skied up there, but I know there's a summer ski operation. Not sure which months they normally keep the pass clear.

Yesterday evening, the view toward the North from my home was breathtaking, all the mountains in their full glory.
This morning, looking Westward, the same thing!
Mountains were white with Snow (the Monterosa was b-e-a-.u-t-i-f-u-l to be seen)
