Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

The triple world champion ski mountaineering Stéphane Brosse, three times winner of the Pierra Menta, died today, following a fall of 600 m. Accompanied Jornet, Monta-Sebastien Rosset Fleury and Bastien, he tried crossing the Mont Blanc massif, Contamines in Champex. Rupture of a ledge on the Aiguille d'Argentière cost him his life. Stéphane Brosse, father of two had worked for 40 years and Mobalpa as product manager. Valerie Fourneyron, the new sports minister, responded with a statement in the evening: "It is with sadness and dismay that I learned mourning affecting the world of ski mountaineering with the sudden death of the triple world champion French Stéphane Brosse, at the age of 40 years. Stephen was an athlete and a great human being. His love for the mountains and for its discipline commanded respect. His many achievements, particularly in the Patrouille des Glaciers or at the legendary route Chamonix-Mont-Blanc Chamonix, will remain forever etched in our memories. I share the grief of his family and friends, and I offer my heartfelt condolences to all those who knew and loved. "Chrono Cross offers condolences to his family and loved ones.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I was following their progress on Seb Montez blog who was filming the attempt. It wasn't going entirely to plan they decided to spend the night at the couvercle hut. The accident happened on the Aig Argentiere when a cornice failed. They were doing a grand traverse of the mont blanc range from les Contamines to Champex and had already climbed Mont Blanc and I think les courtes.

A very sad lose.
