Any recommendation on family ski resorts / chalets / child care. Either a good package company or can you recommend a good child care in resort ( any ) for infants upwards. Many thanks

I can highly recommend Ski Esprit. They offer the whole package nursery for under 3's, or lessons and snow club for 3's and over. We went to Crystal 2000 in Courchevel Dec 2010 our girls were 1 and 4 at the time, and we are booked to go with them in April next season staying in Pepi Gabl in St Anton.

Skifamille.
Ski esprit.
Grandparents.
In order of ability.
Also grand parents seem to forget they are grand parents, and remember being parents doing you a favour at day 3.

We rate VIP Ski in Les Gets. Not cheap but a fantastic resort/accommodation (Altitude Lodge)/childcare. The childcare is with private nannies but they really do look after the kids well...

Another vote for Ski Espirit. Very good with the kids, been with them twice and planning next seasons trip now.
Not used them but have heard good things about Ski Famille too, worth a google...

If you're looking for something a little lower budget we found the resort owned garderie in Samoens very good - and reasonably priced compared to what most tour operators would charge.
Samoens itself is one of the closest/easiest resorts to drive to - motorway all the way to Cluses - which we always found easier when ours were little as it allowed us to pack toys/child paraphenalia which flying would have made awkward. It doesn't actually take much longer once you consider that you don't need to get to an airport to check in well in advance of departure (and hang around for a while), then wait for luggage reclaim at the other end (and hang around for a while), then wait until everyone is on a transfer bus, etc. It's a nice traditional village, rather than a purpose built resort, but it's just a fast gondola ride up to access the Grand Massif area (Flaine etc).
Lots of selfcatering options in Samoens - packages with Eurotunnel (including lounge access which gets you free refreshments at the terminal) from Peak Retreats and some nice hotels in the village with pretty family friendly policies on child discounts (including at times free half board up to age 12) like this one.

We went with Ski Famille in Les Gets this year and had a great time. The quality of the childcare was excellent and the kids had a great time (1 + 4). Chalets and food were excellent as well.

I'd highly recommend Wuppys Kinderland in Mayrhofen, they looked after our youngest when she was 18 months and they were fantastic. They were always made a fuss over her when we turned up and it was so good that Alex was genuinely excited to be going there in the morning.

Can highly recommend Snowbizz too who go to Puy St Vincent. Great, safe little resort. Booked to go again with them in March as our 3 year old enjoyed it so much. Resort not linked but has plenty to keep you occupied especially if you have kids. Most accommodation is ski in ski out and everything within a minutes walk.
