Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I am thinking about having a couple of half day lessons at the beginning of our st anton ski holiday next season. I am really after improving my technique and gaining confidence as I tend to get nervous when on icy surfaces and ver steep sufraces. I have had a number of weeks skiing since I was 13 a total of about 12 weeks or so spread out over about 23yrs with various breaks esp after rupturing my acl my medial meniscus carterlidge and having 2 children.
Can any body make any recommendations? The last time I did this I booked three mornings worth which started of Ok but on the second day they moved a lady up into our group who was really a beginner so and the third day ended up being a complete waste of money as the instructor had to spend his whole time coaxing her down the mountain side which was the run me and hubby did as a "nice little warm up" before our lesson started. I am worried about repeating that experience.

NickyJ
, I don't have any recommendations but have you considered a private lesson or 2, rather than group??
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I am open to both options but would like somebody who is good for building my confidence

I'm sure you can book a private lesson for a shorter time, but when I was there a few years ago the main ski school in St Anton only did full day lessons.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Two main schools (which are pretty much the same)

Group course is four hours a day, starts at 0930 with both. Private courses vary.
Also a couple of newer smaller family outfits.

In mid April it will very likely be Spring conditions so probably icy first thing, softening through morning, very soft from after lunch.
If you are concerned about getting the most from the lesson then book a private one.
