Please someone help me choose an access touring set up!

Hello, I'm hoping someone will be able to give me some advice on my first touring set up.
I am 6 feet and 14 stone. I am an advanced skier. As far as what I am looking for, something for access from lifts rather than long tours. I am definately more about the downhill performance of the ski and binding... AT? I have looked at the marker duke, and the frischi diamir. But basically just calling for someone who knows what they're talking about for a bit of advice. Thank you.

Sorry, a bit confused by what you actually want it for - do you mean just short tours away from top of lifts? If so, whack Dukes or Barons on your normal skis. If you're planning to skin much more than 1 or 2 hours, you should then look at the more lightweight binding (and ski) options.

Thanks for replying. Yeah basically just short tours away from lifts. Maybe the occasional slightly longer tour. In my head I wouldnt want to sacrifice downhill performance for weight but then again I dont want to be dragging up a pair of hellbents with dukes on. I have looked at the Line Opus as a good middle ground, versitile ski but at the moment I am having problems with my Line Blends and dealing with K2 so I am not so sure about buying from them again. Can you think of a similar ski to the Opus from another manufacture. Also what do you know about the Salomon Guardian? Thank you.

I've toured on the Guardian and was pretty impressed with the set up, also was bloody impressed with the salomon rocker 2 108 as well if your looking for a decent ski away from the K2 lot...

(although must admit think the K2 lot are very good at warrantees)

donald92, If you can bring yourself to consider k2 agin , the "coombeback" gets rave reviews as a access touring/all mountain ski , and is great value , mounted with barons the set up would be spot on for your requirements .
