Could someone advise the best wipe on wax for these Easter conditions.
Toko?
Zardoz?

No question,Zardoz....but its not a magic cure. You need well prepared skis with a wide temperature wax, which Zardoz will help preserve. It will also improve the glide qualities, but needs applying very frequently. And avoid brown snow at all cost, highly eiffective wax stripper! P
As for any of the others, never found any as effective as Zardoz. Have fun

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Without ironing you won't a get a wax to penetrate the base & corking it in still doesn't get close & is damned hard work. So definately Zardoz, especially for spring conditions as teflon repels water. Don't bother with it first thing in the morning if it's refrozen overnight but apply later, say after a coffee or lunch stop.

Make sure bases are dry first.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

If you wax your own skis apply zardoz to a dry base and then do all your waxing on top. It does seem to help the absorbed wax glide. I still put it on each day as well.

Called the Felix process after the guy who invented it....
I've refined it a little further; but you need a digitial temp ski iron to do it.
1, Clean bases; hot scrape works best; with a soft wax that melts/applies well at around 110C.
2, apply a generous coat of Zardoz; and I mean generous.
3, VERY gently iron bases at 100-110C; and I mean GENTLY. Did I say GENTLY; ensure you have enough Zardoz to have the warmed base fully coated.
4, Allow to cool
5, Drip wax of choice on bases
6, Spread carefully; you may need to gently melt an "iron sized patch" and then remove iron and move to next bit as the dripped wax does not stick to the Zardoz'd base well and just slides off if you try and slide the hot iron over the dripped wax.
7,Once you have melted all the dripped wax you can then use the usual "slide the iron along" to warm the base and get the wax+Zardoz to impregnate the base
8, Cool
9, srape carefully as the base can be very slippery!
