Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Going to Ek 24 march. Does anyone know if there is a reciprocal agreement with neighbouring resorts. I went to ste foy a few years ago and got free days at la ros, Ek and les arcs. Just wondering if the opposite applies. Thanks for reading.

Yes you can have an away day at Les Arcs or La Plagne on the EK lift pass. Did it ourselves last season.

shoogly, it's not hard as there are regular buses from Ek down the valley to BSM. HOwever,

1) there's enough skiing in EK to last a lifetime
2) it'll take a hell of a lot of time doing it by public transport, so much so that I wouldn't consider it. On the first EOSB we were based in BSM and we did trips up to Tignes - some of us just one day, some more frequently - and it took 45 minutes by car. BSM up to Les Arcs is another 20 minutes by car or funicular, for instance...

I totally agree with nbt's comments.
Depending on your skiing ability, funds and conditions, one option would be to sign up with a guided group doing the 'Tour Tarentaise'. This is an off piste experience, starting from the Col du Palet lift in Tignes and skiing Off piste to Champagny, up into the La Plagne system, belt across La Plagne on piste, Ski off piste down the North face of the Bellecote [or variant of] to Peisey [nowdays I presume across the vanoise express lift], belt across les Arcs on piste, up the Grand Col lift [10 min walk] ski off piste to Villaroger, drink followed by minibus to EK.
Only get glimpses of Paradiski areas however makes use of the free day and for me provided the best skiing day of my life [good group, excellent guide-Alpine Experience ]

shoogly, I believe you have booked some off piste guiding days. Alpine Experience (AE) often goes to St Foy so your guides may do the same. Tell your guides, as early as possible during your stay, that you would like to ski in St Foy. They may oblige. I have done several trips to St Foy with AE and the extra cost is the price of a shared taxi, plus I think I had to pay a bit for the lift pass on my most recent (Jan 2011) trip. Total extra cost 20 or 30 Euros, from memory.

you can also get a reduced price at St Foy with an EK pass, also there are St Foy half price vouchers on the back of the superU till receipts from the BSM branch! Also for paradiski - park at Villaroger (about 20 mins drive from Tignes (Its well before Bourg) and bob's yer uncle

shoogly, I would also echo what retsil says about the Tarentaise Tour. It is a great day of skiing, it is physically demanding but there are several variations depending on the group's ability. I have done it with AE but not recently. I think that some of the Val d'Isere ski schools regularly do a Tarentaise Tour.
