Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

dave_wick, click4quote.com was recommended by a fellow SH and I found they were best for me. (you can customize) Cool

dave_wick, Snowcard, you can also customise. Search Snowcard to find the threads where off-piste cover is disussed at length

depending on what skiing you want to do click4quote only covers off-piste with a paid professional guide
"Must be within resort boundaries and with a paid professional guide. Excludes areas designated unsafe by resort management or where there is an avalanche warning of level 3 or above in place"

dave_wick, We asked that very question and the answer is in one of the threads - in Apres I think, but from memory it is any off-piste that is lift served, including (and we checked this) to the side of the piste and between pistes. The next level up is well gnarly!

It sounds as though you'll be covered. If you want confirmation from them a very helpful lday called Debbie replies within 24 hours.

I was recommended (among others) Direct Travel and they came in far cheaper and with a much more useful policy than most of the others. I was only looking for skiing on piste though, so your mileage might vary.

Direct Travel are still pretty good for single trip policies.

THeir annual policies have fallen out of favour here, but only because they limit you to 17 days skiing.

and, IIRC, because of a change of wording about off-piste skiing? May be confusing that with another company, though.

pam w, no change of wording looking at my renewal details and my old policy. There is a change in cover for US and Canada, but I think it was to the skiers benefit rather than detriment.

alex_heney, they extended my annual policy which expires during next weeks trip with a single trip policy for a very reasonable sum.
