Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

St Martin Trip Report

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Resort: St Martin de Belleville
Country: France
Domain: 3 vallees
Author: 5RED

Date: The dates of your visit Jan 28 - Feb 5 2012
Our holiday: Group of four intermediate/lower intermediates
Website : www.les3vallees.com
Basics : In the Savoie region of the French Alps, a 2.5 hour transfer from Geneva.
Lift system : Excellent links from St Martin all around the 3 Valleys. Queues non-existent apart from end of the day, civilized behavior in said queues! St Martin 2 chair which takes you up to the Tougnete ridge is long and can be cold. Button lift in St Martin village was on a steepish icy slope we did not consider suitable for outright beginners.
The terrain : Slopes well pisted generally. Pistes around St Martin including the beautiful Jerusalem tend to be quieter than the rest of the 3V. Pistes from Courchevel down to Meribel got ridiculously traffic-jammed.
The snow : Just after the biggest dump in years, of course the snow was glorious, and right down to village level. If it's a bad snow year, and the village button is not in use, then apparently a 10-minute slog up to the bubble is in order.
Off-piste : Can't comment on off-piste.
The resort : Beautiful small traditional village, not swamped by tourists, most voices we heard around were French. A few ski hire shops, a decent supermarket and wonderful little butchers nearer to the exit out of town. Properly small village, you'll have walked around it in ten minutes. Not a buzzing apres-ski venue by any means, limited options for any kind of late-evening entertainment apart from restaurants. Dahlia pub (at bottom of the bubble) staffed by nice Irish girls provides a bit of music, and the Piano Bar next to the village church is a welcome quiet spot with good wine, a large fire, and often live musicians.
Food : Le Montagnard in the village was our dinnertime splurge and worth every penny - in the Michelin guide and we could see why. On the slopes Le Grand Lac (on the run of the same name) was a Snowheads tip and our favorite lunch spot - queues possible so get there early, or late.
Accommodation : Stayed in accommodation above the Piano Bar, run by an English family who have newly taken over, and promise to renovate the rooms in time for next season. Recommended.
Costs: 2V is expensive, costs in general were about 20% above other French resorts.
Conclusion: Of all the towns in the 3V we skied to (Meribel, Courchevel, La Tania, Les Menuires) we preferred St Martin, both for the town and for the surrounding slopes.
