Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Any up to date info on snow/piste conditions here and in the Via Lattea? Can't find any decent actual reports or webcam pix.

Thanks

Me too. Can't find anything great for weather or info for that area. Hopefully something somewhere. Heading next week, indeed 28 of us!

We just got back from Sestriere today. Sad to say that the conditions aren't great as it's been really hot - 17 degrees yesterday - so it's all starting to get pretty slushy with a few of the lower slopes at Sauze and Sansicario closed. Sestriere wasn't as bad though and the higher runs (especially on the Borgata side) were a bit better. Not sure what the forecast is like for the coming week though - it's only got warm over the last 3 days or so, so you may be in luck and it could get cold again. I'd try and get a day over in Montgenevre if you can - we were there on Thursday and whilst it was still sunny there seems to be a bit more snow over that way.

Got back from Sauze on Sunday, very bad and in need of some snow. We skied in +11 degree temps at the top, god knows what it was in the valley.

Lower slopes were very slushy, shaded runs in the trees were faring better and the runs to resort resembled a slush puppy.

Craigy - hope you get some fresh snow for your trip.

Stellachops - what are the snow conditions like in Montgenevre? Just wondered as we are going there in a few weeks. When we went in late March a few years ago it was very mild and unpromising before we went but snowed heavily for most of the holiday. Am hoping we will be lucky again!

Got back on Sunday.

Start of the wek was awesome, with bright sunshine and about 6/7cm of fresh on Tuesday.

However...

As the guys above have said, it was slushy and very patchy by Saturday, and the only decent snow was to be found across at the far Western stretch of the resort by the Moncrons drag lift.

Snowymum - the conditions in Montgenevre were lovely on Friday last week.

It's been great despite the above. Some fresh snow really spiced things up so we've spent loads of time off piste and in the trees. More snow would be welcome but still plenty to enjoy.

paulmags, Hi, we're going out to Claviere on the 18th, really hoping the temps keep low to keep the snow, be great if you or anyone else can keep us informed.

Don't mind it being a sunny holiday, think that is better with a 4 year old anyway, but would like something to ski on!

Hello, just trying to help those going to cheaper but better Italy rather than la Belle F, fow which there are loads of reports. Just back from the Via Lattea and....................

The pistes have been looked after well with cannon running all day where possible. Snow depth is not that impressive and quite thin in places with grass and stones showing in some instances. Lower runs are there but nothing else is.................. Sauze Seztriere link is broken other than by gondola. SanSicario can be skiied (and skiied well) down to the Gondola only. No snow in Cesana so its a skis off transfer by the old two seat chair AND the high speed quad link up to the Montes del la Luna where the skiing is very good on excellent snow. Down into Claviere is also in very good condition and matters improve slightly as you migrate into Montgenevre.
I came back Sunday. We had about 25 -30 cms of new snow over the week but not in all areas. Sauze and Sestriere had some whilst San Sicario - just over the mountain did not recieve any. Air temperatures were quite low but the strength of the sun produced some slush on the very lowest runs by the end of the day. 20 degrees c on the restaurant balcony/deck in the sun was not unusual. Another warm week is in prospect.
