Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Jasna new lifts

 Poster: A snowHead

Hey, anyone been to Jasna in Slovakia recently just saw that it looks like there are some new lifts opening up that should make access to the higher terrain a lot easier, wondered if anyone had any on the ground feed back?

Not been recently but should be awesome if they make access to the freeride areas easier, as long as it doesn't overcrowd it.
Jasna has some beautiful terrain to play on!

Went to Jasna the last week in January, but have been for the last 4 years with work collegues (we have an office in Nitra, so have a joint trip).

A lot has been invested in Jasna the last few years. Some of the pistes have been widened in areas to allow more access (these were blues to give beginners more scope), and the Otupne run has a new 8 man Gondola. The new 6 man 'orange bubble' from Zahradky was put in last year.

A new snowing system has been installed, and this year this is extended to the top of Chopok to allow access to the South side. The top lifts close due to wind, but for 2012/2013 a new 24 man, double cable gondola is planned from mid station (top of the orange bubble chair) to the top of Chopok. A 12 man gondola will go down the south side to mid station (avoiding the black from top of Chopok North). A new mountain top restaurant is planned to open at the same time. This new lift should open up the freeride area on the right side of the North facing bowl, as it terminates where the current drag lift finishes.

The bottom station ground works for the 24 man gondola were in place this year, so I would expect it will be completed on time for next winter.

Biggest bind for Jasna is flights & transfers. Bratislava is 3 to 4 hours, Krakow and Katowice a little less, and flights arent every day. Poprad airport is half hour down the road - but no direct UK flights Sad
