Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Weekends at Hemel/MK

Poster: A snowHead
Want to go next weekend so my daughter can test some new skis. Will have to be at the opening times of EB (MK) and S&R (Hemel), S&R 9 -6, EB 10 - 7 on Sat and both 11 - 5 on Sunday. Favouring MK atm if they have the Blizzards in she's interested in.

How busy are they at weekends and when would be the best time? I haven't been to either in ages.

I was at Hemel all day yesterday. It wasn't too busy up until 11.30ish, but then was fairly busy through until 4.00pm when I finished. Maybe 5 minutes queues for the drag lifts, but the slope was perfectly skiable.

Was also there all day; fairly quiet all day compared with last week, but then that is hardly surprising. 8 to 10am was very nice! Also was quieter from about 7 to 10pm. However; must add that loads of the kids that come to the Sunday AM sessions were in on 1/2 term courses and so yesterday may not be representative of the next few weeks.

Was at MK from 1040 to 1240. Was not that busy normally only a few people queing for lift. A section was closed for kids sledging parties though.

EB was busy on Saturday but quite on Sunday.

Not too bad at all.

OK thanks all. Probably go to MK this Sunday to try some out. If they aren't suitable it will probably be Hemel the next weekend.

Colin B, you also need to be aware that S&R & EB have different policies on charging for ski tests. EB at MK don't charge for demos http://www.ellis-brigham.com/demo.htm, S&R at HH do http://www.snowandrock.com/terms-and-conditions/content/fcp-content#demo-pool. For this reason alone I'd recommend going to MK if the skis your daughter wants to try are available at both.

little ms spock, Thanks, Only EB have them. I did speak to them about charges too, they are reduced atm so we (sorry I) wouldn't get the slope charge knocked off. Still they are a pretty good price if suitable.
