Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A snowHead
My 13 year old has just returned from his school ski trip where he experienced a bad fall resulting in a short black out and concussion. He was taken to hospital where he was given a cat scan and cleared of any major injury. He has recovered very well with the headache lasting around 12 hours after the fall. It's 4 days since and he has had no further symptoms.
We are going on a family ski holiday 2 weeks today and not sure what inshould do. I've been told he should not ski for 6 weeks whereas the medical websites suggest he can return to active sports after just 2 as long as he has no further headaches. Does anyone know what the ski insurance people might say about this? Has anyone had experience of skiing so soon after concussion?

I think it used to be a mandatory 3 week lay off when I was playing rugby.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

You have answered your own question. The only people to ask are your insurance company not an internet forum, unless you want to travel uninsured? Ring them and ask them and if they say yes then get it in writing. If they say no ask why and you might find they will want a doctors note. Either way your insurance company decides, not snowheads.

, maybe see a real life GP instead of a medical website (and insurance company too)
