Poster: A snowHead
|
I'm off with my wife to Tignes in March and we wanted to pick up some snowboarding lessons (We can ski, but going with a group of boarders and wanted to try it out!)
Any recommendations for schools? Evolution 2 have come back with €50/hr for private lessons which is pretty good but can't find much about their snowboarding school.
Other than that there is Alliance Snowboarding which offer group lessons which are a little cheaper (~£150 less for the week) and they get good reviews, however group size will be 8.
Since the difference in cost is minimal would people recommend the private over group?
Thanks, Pj

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Lots of previous posts on Snowheads about lessons in Tignes, try googling "snowboard lessons Tignes site:snowheads.com"
Last year I did group lessons with Alliance and it was brilliant, but this year I did 2 private lessons and it was even better. Given the small price difference, IMO private lessons are better value as you get so much more attention from your instructor for a little extra. We covered as much stuff in 2 private 90 minute lessons as a whole week in the group.
I'm sure there will be other SH's along with equally valid recommendations, but you will not go wrong with Alliance either way (private/group)
Have a nice time

Also try contacting Neil McNair (www.mcnairsnowsports.com). He's the top BASI Snowboard Trainer and is based in Tignes, working as an independent instructor.

Just to let you know that I have just returned from an excellent week in Tignes. Neil McNair was busy that week but put me in contact with Steph Wiehe from Pro Snowboarding who had me tackling blue runs after 2 days!
I'd highly recommend Steph as an instructor since he was a patient and an excellent teacher and made us feel really comfortable on the slopes.
