Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

If you want to go to hotel / condo - Ski Independence or Ski the American Dream specialise in stateside skiing. Otherwise Crystal/Inghams/Thomson go there, but would definatly go for one of the first two as they know alot more about what they are talking about. If want chalet, then Skiworld who have about 10/15 chalets out there in a variety of resorts... Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, Jackson Hole, Whistler etc

Depending on what sort of accommodation you are looking for it's worthwhile looking at Expedia for an independent flight/hotel package. I've been comparing New Year prices for Heavenly and it looks far more economical.

Royal, I would agree that Inghams/Thomsons/or Neilsons are all reputable operators. In the event of problems the large operators have a duty of care to all their customers.

Having said that you may find that the ski areas of Breckenridge and Vail compared to Europe are not as vast as some of the more well known ski circuses. It is better to take a ski holiday to the USA for certainly no less than 10 days when a larger content of your holiday cost is the air fare. My point here and suggestion to make the most of your holiday to USA you might consider a twin centre with 1 week at Breckenridge and the 2nd week at Vail (both Breck. and Vail are covered by the same ski-pass as is Beaver Creek, Keystone, Winter Park, and the Arapahoe basin).

When 4 of us went to Colorado above 5 years ago for 14 nights, we did do it independently, but I am not sure that it was any cheaper than with a tour operator. For the first week we were based at Breck. skiing 4 days there and 2 in Keystone, for the second week we stayed just outside Vail, skied 4 days at Vail and 2 at Beaver Creek. For transport we rented a "Chevy" van (like an American Ford Transit) upon arrival at Denver. This was more comfortable because we also had brought all our own ski kit with us.

For us the above fitted the bill perfectly, I hope that my experiences may give you idea of some of the possibilities.

Im was thinking about a two centre break, winter park is deff on my list maybe brek as a second, although rusty (whos' advice I cant fault) says theres enough to do in w/p to keep us happy for 2 weeks.
