Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Dynastar TroubleMakers

Got offered a brand new pair of these with bindings by a reputable ski hire shop for E 385.

Reviews suggest they are mostly a park type ski but ok ish as an all mountain ski. Does anyone have any opinions based on usage? Also, looking around at prices, I can't really find any comparable UK prices.

I've never skied the Troublemakers, but I have been using their bigger brother, the Big Trouble, as my everyday ski for the last few seasons, and they are ace. Nice and stiff, good edge grip, bombproof construction. I imagine the Troublemaker is somewhat similar.

Ask what year they are, that sounds quite a lot for skis that may be a couple of seasons old (even if unused).

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks Clarky. I think they are the 2010s.

Rishie, I had a pair from about 2007 with the ghost graphic, don't do park, but they were very good on piste and in bumps as far as i remember, they were very quick edge to edge. They were not that stiff, but were for a park type ski if that makes sense. The later ones were a bit wider and stiffer, apparently not as good, but some had a wicked "lady" base graphic and the original become "nothing but trouble" which a mate skis as his everyday skis and loves them, even though they are a bit tired.

as clarky999, suggests E385 for an old ski is expensive

i am sure there were some for sale in the sales bit here see posts by dot.

I was sure the Trouble series had become the Sixth Sense series by then? I may be wrong, but it's worth researching. Do a search based on which graphics they are and it shouldn't be too hard to find the year.

Actually, even if they are 2009/2010, that seems expensive. I got my first BT's (2007/08 series) at the start of the 2008/09 season, brand new in resort, for about €300 inc bindings.

Nah, they'll ski 5-6cm shorter due to the twin tip, should be fine. If anything, the extra length will help in powder/crud/etc.

Carroz, we're almost the same size. Forgotten they were twin tips and therefore would be shorter. I'll pm the doc. One last really stupid Q, are these hard work in moguls, chopped up snow?

Dot., Sorry, tired brain cell tonight.....the doc and dot. are similar (ish!)

Rishie, No not at all, the only time they were hard work was when it was very hard and icy, flapped about a bit, but with a 3 degree edge on them they gripped ok.

Good all mountain ski, they were surprisingly good off piste in not too deep stuff, also very nimble, so moguls are fine.
