Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just booked our Easter trip Very Happy and starting to think about kit hire for the teens. Can anyone recommend somewhere decent?

Some info you might find useful from a chalet owner in Valloire:

We've always used Sport 2000 at their "Immeuble Crêt de Peré" shop. The shop is pretty much at the bottom of the main Crey du Quart gondola (at the bottom of the main street) and has the advantage of having two rooms of ski lockers if you're not centrally located in the village. The last couple of years we've booked our rental through:

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I'd also be interested in any ski-hire places, preferably near the foot of the moulin benjamin chair (just out of valloire towards verneys)

TangoFiver, from memory, and a with quick check with Google Maps... There is not a lot going on at the bottom of Moulin Benjamin... There is an ESF office and (I think) just a single hire shop:

You might want to consider just jumping on the free bus which runs every 15mins both up the valley to Verney and down into town opening up a lot more options. Timetable and routes can be found here:

Thanks for the reply pjg Very Happy

Yeah we've got a hire car but you reckon the bus will be easier? I suppose it would save any expensive damage to the hire car!

I've just returned from Valloire, we stayed at Chalet Galibier, right opposite the Moulin Benjamin ski lift. Inter sport have a hire shop in town but also right near the Moulin Benjamin ski lift http://www.intersport-rent-france.co.uk - type in Valloire and it brings up both shops.

We hired from Ski Set who are based in town but after seeing the location of inter sport I would have used them if I knew they were so close. We arrived at the accommodation about 5pm on the Saturday night and then getting the bus back to town seemed a chore when inter sport were so close.

no need for a car if you are staying near Moulin Benjamin, 10 - 15 min walk or free bus, chalet galibier was great.

I just posted a trip report if you are interested.

Got our gear sorted now, thanks for all the advice. Got a cracking deal with Intersports on the Rue de Setaz.

Great trip report Jacksd2, even more excited for our holiday now (if that's possible).
