Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Found this, but there will be others:

http://www.igluski.com/italy/canazei-val-di-fassa-snow-history_25664. There may well be snow, it's the quality that's the problem. Val Di Fassa is a valley comprising a number of towns villages, each with their own area. Some are linked, but Canazei and Campitello give access to the Sella Ronda and other resorts. The Sella Ronda has excellent snow making, but the temperature needs to be cold for that to be effective. Further than that, I don't know, but others will have a view.

What are you after? I can tell you what Canazei can offer and that's probably the biggest town along the valley.

Was in the area second week of March last year (and will be again this). Plenty of snow around, but it got heavy in the afternoon. I don't think I would want to go there that late personally, but of course that all depends on the weather. Risky, I would say, but there again think of the long lunches and the sun bathing.

Chris Bish, It was slushy in the afternoon in Avoriaz last year at the same time! I was introduced to picnic-ing, but that was last year! Other years I have been skiing there last week in April and conditions were better! Maybe this year will be better than last! well it couldnt be worese!!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Last April it was great - the temperature dropped down again and there was a nice thick base so the pistes were lovely (and quiet too)!
It just does depend on the weather - if it's a warm April the slopes are going to be slushy after lunch but if you have a late, long Italian style lunch you won't want to do too much skiing later on anyway! Smile
