Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

immer schuss, I would say most definitely if the snow is good. It makes a good change from the glacier. Beware that if there are weather problems and the glacier is closed Schlick will get very busy, so get there early. Also the elfer (11’er) behind the Tirolerhof and Sport hotels is a good half day when the glacier is closed. Of course, if it's your first time in the area then you should have enough on the glacier. snowHead

I was there a few years ago in Easter and even that late Schlick offered some good skiing. Doesn't offer much more than half a day's skiing but that half day would certainly be enjoyable. Loved the skiing on the glacier.

I thought the major skiing area of the Stubai Valley is the glacier which has 110km piste. Other unlinked areas are very small. Like Neustift has only 7km. It is a bus ride from the valley to get to the glacier. It is a long ride though as Neustift is 13 miles from the glacier located at the dead end of the valley. Was there 3rd week in Jan last year. Nice but a bit cold. Snow was fantastic. Should be similar this year.
