Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Want to hire boots only

A friend of mine has managed to borrow a pair of skis, for our trip to VT next Saturday (14th). However, he doesn't own boots, and it seems to be a nightmare trying to pre-book boot hire.

Can anyone advise?

Booking skis on their own, simple, not so much the other way round.

I'm very sure if you rock up to any sports rental shop and say 'can I rent some boots please?' the answer will be yes. Twenty quid a day or so.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

hiring boots on their own always seems relatively expensive.

At £20 a day I would buy a pair and get them fitted properly.

I think it was about £6 a day on that link I gave. Still quite a bit, but hardly £20.

Ski bindings will need adjusting to fit them too. Make sure DIN is set correctly also.

Callai, leave the planks at home and rent skis too. They'll be newer, better, sharper and you won't have the aggro and expense of carting these other ones around.

15-25€ a day for the combo depending on what you want/need

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

basic material, but probably as good as a borrowed pair of skis. Less than 60 euros for the week. Upgrade doesn't cost a whole lot. Good advice to hire both together.
