blockhead, At least one person does, he doesn't live in Italy though.
What the article doesn't say is that the police doing the investigation would probably have been in the resort anyway, the Guardia di Finanza also provide the piste rescue in some Italian ski resorts.

No idea but there is an Aston Martin with the registration OUI 74 in Les Gets, honestly.....

Have you ever tried driving rear wheel drive on ice?
I took a Mazda Mx5 to the Alps, but only once!

I was in Cortina briefly last summer. There certainly was a head-turning array of supercars mooching about. THE car of choice seemed to be the Ferrari California - I hadn't seen one in the UK but there were 4 or 5 of 'em. 458 Italias were just as common as Ford Fiestas. Anyway, good luck to them all. We all pay too much tax.

Nadenoodlee, I know exactly who it belongs to.... not us, I hasten to add.... one of the other Aston Martins in Les Gets is owned by Nicolas from Ski Fun Shop.

There's a lovely silver Ferrari which turns up in Sainte Foy now and again with a mountain-bike rack on it! I think that's pretty awesome.

Not sure that luck comes into it, but rather endemic, barefaced fraud. I also got the impression that the owners of the cars in question definitely weren't due any tax refunds.

how hard would you laugh if you saw someone with one halfway up a hill trying to stick snow chains on is also an interesting question

moffatross, well, actually, the Italian Govt should be pleased they are buying Italian supercars. There's an awful lot of tax tied up in a Ferrari.

One of the Rothschilds lives in Verbier and drives a seriously beautiful vintage Ferrari! But that is normal in Verbier

Which is why I laugh every time I see those BMW adverts about rear-wheel drive and front based engine being the perfect balance

There was a Guardia di Finanza vehicle driving around Cervinia last week, I wondered what their jurisdiction was at the time, so now you've helped with that, thanks.

Shock horror probe. Italians in tax evasion shocker.
In other news: sun to come up in the morning; Pope is catholic; bears sh*t in the woods.
Nice to think that we're all paying for this one way or the other. It's all part of being a good European

Most Lambo's are 4wd and with the ESP left on not as scsary as you'd think on ice/snow. Can remember seeing Tiff Needell take a Gallardo round an ice track at some point on fifth gear, electronics stimmy even the heaviest right foot.

Dazzle Camo was a British invention and in use during WWI (not that it wasn't in WWII by the Germans but credit where it's due eh?)
