Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi
I am flying with Ryanair to Grenoble on the 14th. There are 3 of us going and I have booked 3x hold bags and 2x ski equipment.
Can anyone confirm if the ski equipment allows me to take a ski bag and a boot bag or am I going to have to fit the boots into my hold bag?
I have tried the search function on here but can't seem to find out!
Has anyone flown with Ryanair this year and can confirm?
Thanks very much.

Not too sure on Ryanairs policy but Balkan Holidays (BH Air) told me ski carriage is "one" booking but I can take two bags (boots and skis) as long as they don't weigh more than 15kg. I know it's not an answer to your question but it may help.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

1 extra sports bag i think on o'leary airlines.
Sporting or musical equipment including but not limited to large fishing rods, golf clubs, bikes* (bikes have a weight limit of 30 kilos), scooters, fencing equipment, surfboards, bodyboards, snowboards and skis and large musical instruments including but not limited to harps, double bass and drums are inherently unsuitable for carriage by airlines operating fast turnarounds such as Ryanair. However, these items may be carried in the hold of the aircraft in addition to your personal checked baggage allowance up to a limit of 20 kilos per item upon payment of a discounted online fee of £40/€40 per item, per one way flight. If the item is purchased at the airport or through a Ryanair call centre a higher fee of £50/€50 per item/per one way flight will apply). Any sporting and musical item weighing over the 20 kilos allowance will be charged for the excess at the applicable excess baggage rate per kilo
all on their website....

In preferance to Ryanaiirs ridiculously over priced services, I've started using http://www.skicarriage.co.uk
Cuts down on hassels to and from Airports etc, used them last year, worked brilliantly
