Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Loose boot question

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello Snow Heads,

The last few days skiing I have had with my boots I have had an issue whereby they feel that they are getting too loose on my calf/shins, to the point where I do not feel as in control of the ski as I would like. I suspected the lining etc however a ski shop I went to suggested that I may have outgrown my boots (ability wise). The boots feel ok for the first day or so on the slopes then become loose so I don't instantly understand why this would be if it was ability. They are Atomic B80's. Does anyone have an opinion or explanation as to what is going on or what I need to do?

Thanks

Hi Cheese,
Go see a good bootfitter!! might be too big, B'tec is Atomics widest boot so might be that or if your better and/or heavier than when you bought the boots you could be out flexing them, ski muscles build up as you get better just like when doing any other exercise.
flexing the boots in the shop will tell your fitter if your out flexing them and if they shell check you (remove the liners and look at the space you've got inside the boot) they'll let you know if its too big.

Hope that helps - plenty of boot fitter recomendations on here depending where your located.
