Lacroix Ultime.
I kid you not.
Aimed at the upper end Russian market I am led to believe.

No.
... but I wish I could afford their Offtracker's(m)/ICE(f). Blimmin awesome fun and good all-round day-to-day ski. Sadly, close to £1k! Roll on the lotto win

Woah, those Carradan skis have whole new levels of marketing excrement and faux-engineering. I particularly liked the 'coriolis core' which uses equal amounts of wood from trees of the same species grown north and south of the equator for improved flex characteristics and thermal stability. Still, for $19k of ski I'd be expecting to have a video of them being hand-finished by naked Balinese maidens, and nowhere do I see such a service listed. Disappointing.
At least the Ultimes look nice.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

If it made me ski 10 times better than a pair costing €800 yes no problem, but I'd still be crap.

Given that the blurb talks about water draining clockwise/anticlockwise in sinks depending on hemisphere which isn't true, I'd suggest that the coriolis effect has no discernable impact on tree growth either... Basically making it an expensive waste of time...

I wouldn't pay that much money for skis, BUT I would like to have enough money so that I would not have a care in the world about spending that much on skis

That it is an expensive waste of time isn't in doubt
Plant twistiness is an odd subject though, and the effect of coriolis forces on it seems to be a bit of an unknown. Any differences would be more likely due to the position of the sun (south aspect gets the most sun in the northern hemisphere, vice-versa for the south... prevailing wind has the same direction at equivalent latitudes) but as it turns out vines tend to spiral around tree trunks in the same direction regardless of hemisphere so its probably caused by the shape of some folded protein, or something. So they're probably wrong, but not for the reason you might think!
But yeah, aside from flowery pseudoscience, these guys don't seem to be offering interesting ski shapes or materials or even nice graphics. You'd have more fun and better value for money in every single way by buying something custom from Folsom or Igneous or whoever and covering it in cocaine. I wonder who actually buys Carradan.

No No NO!!! Never ever ever, even if I had all the Euromillions jackpot in my pocket.
It'll be 100% all the gear and no idea from whoever buys it I bet!!!

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Serriadh, just a minute... could the coriolis effect explain my leading edge tip when traversing from right to left but not from left to right?
I think it's worth spending 8000 on a pair of skis. Definitely. Just think of all the admiring looks you're going to get in the lift queue. Think of all the women that will be chasing after you. Yup.
