I don't think much of an iPhone app as a fashion item - isn't the point of these things to show off to other people? Bit difficult to do that with something that's in an inside pocket. Unless you're in the habit of taking it out and showing it to everyone, in which case they're likely to think you're a bit of a tosser. I can't imagine this is the desired effect.

judging by the price you pay for hand-hewn wooden skis in the shops full of Alpine nick-nacks they're a very high fashion item. Even in the sleazy Troc de L'Ile in Albertville they cost a fortune.

I think we should set the trends by wearing a buff appropriate to our ski level. This would help to avoid confusion if we come across SKGB members. I assume such a wide range of colours is freely available of course.

I feel ever so slightly embarrassed just because my ski jacket happens to have a Recco thingamajig on the arm, when I ski 99% on piste.

Kel, I am the epitome of 'all the gear, no idea' so am beyond embarrassment with regards to what I wear. But I draw the line at airbags on piste.
