Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Quality Carvers. Purchase Advice Required.

One of my skiing pals is looking to improve his carving technique. He's 43, been skiing for years and has recently dumped 5st and gained a lot of fitness. He's currently on Head Xenon 10s which he reckons not to be carve specific enough.
I'm on Head Magnums which might fit the bill.
We're looking for recommends for a carver (Price not an issue, Jimbo is not afraid to spend wink ) that will work for a novice carver and help develop his technique.

Thanks. Madeye-Smiley

I'd say any ski less than 75mm underfoot with a turn radius of 13m ish would be suitable. But a better bit of advice would be lessons rather than ski choice. Why aren't the Xenons right for him?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Cheers, Jim will be partaking of a lesson or two. I think that he fancies a change more than there being a prob with the Xenons. Madeye-Smiley

IME the wider the ski is the more skill is required to clean roll from edge to edge, so something like the Magnums would be a good piste-orientated ski to develop edge control and carving skills. They're also a sturdy ski so will be happy at speed as he gets better at carving his turns.
