Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi,
I want to go skiing with my wife at the end of January.
Yesterday I found these results: teleportus.com/results/flights_from_london_57N4efc2ff489822
Aren't these prices too expensive?
One more thing. Isn't it better to go skiing by car?
Thanks

Those are all scheduled flights with at least 2 legs. You could do Gatwick to Geneva those days with EJ for about £100 (without skis).

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

If you are going for a standard week - book a late half price deal ...... late Jan is quiet so will be plenty of offers.

raknees, Have a look at BA flights as they include a single piece 23Kg hold allowance plus 2 items of hand luggage (skis in the hold within allowances) If there only two of your travelling then your dates and any requirement for in resort transport will dictate car hire or transfer options. Driving to/from the UK can be an expensive option compared to cheaper flight flights + the time/effort involved. I'm happy to swap notes, provide ideas if you can be more specific Personally I've written off driving as my logistics currently make this way more expensive than flying for me

raknees, welcome to snowHeads, judging by your results, that teleportus site looks like the worst possible place to start looking for a ski holiday.
What exactly are you looking for? We can help you out.

I'm now a massive train evangelist after booking for a trip at the end of Feb: I'm going to Moutiers, £160 return then a return bus for under a tenner at the other end. Absolutely no need to cock about with airports and associated proles, it's ace. Take as much crap on the train as you like too.

Well, I couldn't find anything at easyjet and swiss airlines at this time. I have decided to buy tickets found at Teleportus (for about 100 GBP - Turin). I know that they're no cheapest one, but what the... ;]
Thank you for all suggestions! This forum is great, I think I will visit it more often.

raknees, nothing form easyjet? I found outbound from Stansted to Geneva for £ 59.99 on 28 January (depart 1210 arrive 1500) - and departing Geneva on 4 Feb for £33.99 (depart 1255 arrive 1335). Providing you are not using us as a method of supporting teleportus, you'll be very welcome back here. Meantime, just to keep things honest and true, your link has been de-activated.
