I know it's not everyone's favourite ski shop... However my local Decathlon (Glasgow) has a massive sale on hardware! Pretty much all the ski's were reduced and had a fair whack off! Doing a bit of digging at the moment on a pair of Dynastar Outland 80's (2012) I seen for £249 inc bindings! Also had Atomic Punx with bindings for £269? I think. Bought a new lid too! Salomon Brigade from £69.99 down to £26.99... Really not complaining for at those prices. They had a fair few more pairs of more advanced skis than I seen last year, boots seemed much better too! It's not all Wed'ze stuff!

Yep fair bit of stuff on offer in the Nottingham one yesterday, didn't look too close as we were in buying some bits and bobs like targets and arrow rests for the kids to do some back garden archery as they'd found their bows out. A good selection of boots as well but wouldn't buy in there without finding out from someone who knew what they were talking about which model and size I needed as the staff are pretty clueless and no customising on offer.

Big Decathlon store about to open up near us in Warrington. Never been to one of their outlets before. Might give it a look.

Nothing wrong with any of their gear for your average Brit Punter! Why pay stupid prices for something you're only going to wear two weeks a year. Alternatively, walk down to the Running Gear section where the kit can double as under layers and you might use it in UK for the rest of the year.
As to the Hardware, they now have Solomon and Atomic Skis and boots, although I agree that their staff need better training but they are no worse than Intersport or some other less specialised UK outfits. The Service and Maintenance bay seem to know what they're talking about but time will tell. As always, you get what you pay for.

halfhand, Be prepared to find loads of stuff you didn't know you wanted 
And yes, what panaga52, said above, better if you know what you're after rather than seeking advice, and lots of my running gear is also my skiing gear and is from Decathlon.
